Teeth Whitening

Looking to whiten your teeth? Teeth whitening can be done either in the clinic or with a take home kit. The in-office whitening treatment involves applying whitening gel on all teeth before shining a special blue light on your teeth. Immediate results are usually achieved with in-office treatment for most patients.

The take home kit involves using the whitening gel with a customized tray fitted onto your teeth. The take home kit requires several applications and results are usually visible weeks later.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns commonly known as caps are placed on teeth to protect them from breaking when the tooth is heavily restored or had undergone root canal treatment. Crowns can be made of ceramic, metal or zirconia. Our dentist will advise you on the type of crown that best suits your dental needs. A dental bridge is a permanent dental restoration to replace missing tooth (or teeth) by fixing artificial tooth/teeth to adjacent teeth or dental implants. With dental bridge, it is fixed permanently and cannot be remove.

Partial Dentures

Dentures replace missing teeth as well as their supporting tissues. A partial denture can be made of acrylic or cobalt chrome. When there are multiple missing teeth or a lack of supporting hard/soft tissues, partial dentures may be a better treatment option as compared to a fixed prosthesis such as dental bridge for teeth replacement.

Complete Dentures & SEMCD

For those who are fully edentulous, complete dentures are customized dentures to ensure a snug-fit for the patient. These dentures can be comfortable and retentive by creating a good seal between the patient’s jaw and gums.

Suction effective mandibular complete dentures (SEMCD) are mandibular (or lower jaw) dentures with good retention. The technique of making these dentures was founded by Dr. Jiro Abe, a Japanese dentist. Dr. Khng had the opportunity to learn from the founder of SEMCD. Now an instructor for the SEMCD technique, he conducts SEMCD courses for fellow dentists around Southeast Asia and South Asia. He has been using this specialised technique to fabricate his complete dentures to improve the retention and comfort of wearing complete dentures.

However, SEMCD may not be suitable for all patients, especially those with severely resorbed bone. In these cases, dental implants are still required to help retain the complete dentures.

Immediate Dentures

With the help of 3D printing technology, we can now produce an immediate denture in just a shorter period of time as compared to a couple of weeks. For patients whom will need removal of all their teeth on one or both jaws, an immediate denture is a denture that is fabricated before hand to be inserted in them on the day of removal of all their teeth. No more worries about having to go around without any teeth. These dentures like all dentures have to be removed at night when one sleeps to allow oral tissues to rest.

Overdentures

When patients have badly resorbed bone or dry mouth, dental Implants can help dentures retain better. These are also especially suitable for patients who have poor muscular control or stroke patients. These implants are placed underneath the denture. Dental implants are also placed in the upper jaw to reduce the size of the upper denture allowing more comfort. Overdentures with the help of implants will create a higher bite force and allow patients to eat better.

All on X

These are dental prostheses which are screwed into titanium implants. They are made up of either plastic teeth wrapped around a titanium bar or zirconia. These prostheses are not removed daily and allow denture patients to have teeth that feel like their own. These are best suited for denture patients looking at having fixed teeth or for patients with terminal dentition. These prostheses will require a surgical appointment in which the implants are placed and the temporary denture screwed into the implants. The permanent prostheses will be made 4 to 6 months later. Prostheses made this way allow patients a better quality of life as these teeth will feel and look just like real teeth.

Veneers & Smile Makeovers

Looking for that brilliant and perfect smile? The smile makeover is the one for you. With the help of digital technology, we will be able to first predict how your teeth will look like before committing to do a smile makeover. The smile is recreated with the help of crowns or veneers to change the way your teeth look. If your teeth are badly stained or you will like to have bleached white teeth, this will be the procedure for your dream smile.

Full Mouth Rehabilitation

When a patient has multiple defective crowns, missing teeth, attritted teeth or just poor bite, he or she might require a full mouth rehabilitation. During this procedure, a treatment plan is first done to ensure every tooth’s problem is properly planned out. A wax up of the patients teeth is also required as it will allow us to determine if the plan in which we decide is possible to be carried out. The patient will then come for a series of appointments to allow us to work on their teeth. Occasionally, dental implants might be required to replace missing teeth. These treatments normally last for months to a year or two depending on the extent of the treatment.

Occlusal Guards or Nightguards

If you grind in your sleep, you will need a nightguard. This is a customized appliance that you wear to bed so that you do not damage your teeth when you grind unconsciously at night. Grinding your teeth at night can result in them becoming shorter and more sensitive or cracked. These nightguards can either be milled, 3D printed or made of normal hard plastic. Do ask if which material is best suited for you.

Management of Dental Complications

If you have dentistry that are breaking down or have a complication that you will need help with, this is the place for you. Prosthodontist are trained in managing complicated dental procedures and will be able to help you solve your problem. It can either come in the way of a loose dental implant crown, broken implant screw or just a broken prosthesis.

Pre-cancer Dental Clearance

Dental clearances before cancer treatment is an important part of precancer therapy. In head and neck cancers, it is important that the bad teeth are removed before the patient undergoes radiotherapy to the area as they will be at a risk of getting osteoradionecrosis if teeth are removed after radiotherapy. In some other cancers when bone metastasis have occurred and patients are placed on bisphosphonate therapy or other cancer drugs, their bone will then be unsuitable to undergo any dental extractions or surgeries. Precancer dental clearances are critical for any cancer patient and should always be done before any cancer treatment commences so that they can be free from dental problems during their road to become cancer free.
